A Tennessee woman allegedly chopped her dad with an ax and punched her grandpa in the face before they disarmed and subdued her.
25 year old, Nevada Fortson , faces charges of aggravated assaults, aggravated burglary, violating an order of protection and resisting arrest after allegedly breaking into their home despite an order of protection from her mother. According to Fox News she hitched a ride to her grandpa's house, where he lived with her parents and broke through the guest list window with an ax around 2:20a.m.
Her mother awoke to the sound of glass breaking. She went into the guest bedroom and saw her daughter, then she ran into her bedroom and locked the door. Her father encountered her in the hallway and she hit him with the ax 3 times before he could wrestle it out of her hands. Her grandfather helped subdue her, but not before she blackened his eye. Deputies went inside the house and found her parents and grandfather. Her dad had multiple lacerations on his right arm and her grandpa a bruised eye.
According to jail records, Nevada Fortson was being held on $130,000 bond. She had also been jailed after allegedly violating an order of protection last month and has prior changes charges of resisting arrest, domestic assault, trespassing, and more within the last three months. Older charges include theft, impersonation, and public intoxication. Prior to these charges she only had a seatbelt violation on her record from 2016.
