From Oscar Grant and Tamir Rice, to Mike Brown and Eric Garner…The cycle of lethal police violence against people of color, indictments that yield no convictions and angry protests within the affected communities continues after a jury acquitted officer Jeronimo Yanez of one count of second-degree manslaughter for his role in the shooting death of Philando Castile…An acquittal which highlights how far away we are from bridging relationships between Police Departments and Inner City Communities.
