HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Another abandoned multimillion-dollar mansion in the Hollywood Hills has been covered with graffiti, bringing to two the number of eyesore homes in the area owned by the same person.
The latest four-story home targeted by vandals sits on Sunset Plaza Drive and has been abandoned for years, neighbor Jorgen Christiansson told KTLA5.
"It's just such a shame," Christiansson told the station. "It's such a beautiful mansion and it's just kind of being destroyed because it's been empty."
Christiansson said he and a neighbor first noticed the graffiti starting to appear on the home over the weekend and called police, who took two suspects into custody.
The home is apparently owned by John Middleton, whose father owns the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, according to KTLA5. Another mansion owned by Middleton was covered in graffiti and heavily damaged by vandals on Mulholland Drive last week.
Los Angeles Police Department officers have responded to that property multiple times for calls involving burglary and trespassing, neighbors told reporters.
Nearby residents have shared concerns for their safety, saying the tagging is getting worse. Christiansson said the property on Sunset Plaza Drive was a problem last year too, attracting squatters and even illegal pop-up parties.
