60-ish Woman Suspected of Attempted Armed Robbery at Culver City ATM

CULVER CITY (CNS) - Authorities are seeking a female suspect after a woman at a Culver City ATM was threatened at gunpoint in broad daylight, authorities said Sunday.

The attempted robbery happened at a Wells Fargo in the 5800 block of Green Valley Circle, at Bristol Parkway, around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Culver City Police Department.

Chief of Police Jason Sims said the suspect approached a woman at the machine from behind and threatened to shoot if she didn't put money in a bag. The victim ran inside the bank, with the assailant following before fleeing on foot.

The suspect was described as a roughly 60-year-old Black woman with a medium build and reddish-orange curly hair. She was wearing a light-blue tank top, shorts, sunglasses and carrying a purse or a bag. She was carrying a black firearm that was without further description.
