LA, Orange County Gas Prices Drop Slightly

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Friday to $4.555, a day after dropping three-tenths of a cent.

The average price is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, 8 cents less than one month ago and 80.1 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.939 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $4.478, a day after dropping seven-tenths of a cent. It is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 7.9 cents less than one month ago and 82.8 cents less than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.981 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

"Southern Californians planning Labor Day road trips will be paying less at the pump than last year," said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

The national average price dropped 1.3 cents to $3.374, a day after dropping 1.1 cents. It is 5.9 cents less than one week ago, 12.8 cents less than one month ago and 47.1 cents less than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.642 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
