BALDWIN PARK (CNS) - A passenger who was wounded in a shooting onboard a Foothill Transit bus on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Baldwin Park was taken to a hospital but expected to recover, authorities said Tuesday.

Officers responded to a dispatch call around 6:05 p.m. Monday regarding a ``possibly armed" suspect who was last seen at the Baldwin Park Towne Center, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to Fox 11, a fight that broke out between the victim and the shooter preceded the shooting.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics took the passenger to a hospital for evaluation and treatment, KCAL reported.

The suspect ran off the bus and is on the loose.

The investigation by officers prompted the issuance of a SigAlert for the westbound freeway at Puente Avenue, which was expected to last for several hours.

The suspect was described only as a man in his 30s, according to CHP Lt. Saul Gomez.
