LONG BEACH (CNS) - An 18-year-old Compton woman was charged Friday in connection with a fight with a 13-year-old girl in front of a large group of children and young adults at the Pike retail/entertainment area in Long Beach that was caught on video.

Passion Monnay Mason is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on one misdemeanor count each of battery and challenging a person to fight in a public place and two misdemeanor charges of resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer in the discharge of his or her duties in connection with the March 16 fight, according to the Long Beach City Prosecutor's Office.

Long Beach police -- who had deployed to the area in response to word of a large gathering announced on social media -- broke up the fight within less than 20 seconds, according to the City Prosecutor's Office.

Mason was arrested early that evening by Long Beach police and released the next day on her own recognizance, according to jail records.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office could not be reached for immediate comment on the status of any criminal case against the juvenile involved in the brawl.
