RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Sunny skies and warm weather Tuesday will give way to a cool down with light precipitation in forecast for the parts of Orange County later this week, though the inclement weather will move out by the weekend.

The National Weather Service said a trough of low pressure currently off the Central California coast will swing across the inland region beginning Wednesday night, ushering in patchy fog, drizzle and generally overcast conditions.

"There could be some patchy drizzle or light showers from this deepening marine layer, with the greater chances for Wednesday night into Thursday morning, and again for Thursday night into Friday morning," the NWS said.

Only trace amounts of precipitation are anticipated in the metropolitan areas of Orange County and surrounding locations.

Temperatures will slide from above normal to five to 10 degrees below normal Wednesday to Friday, forecasters said.

In Orange County metro areas, the highs Tuesday will be in the upper 60s, with overnight lows in the low 50s, while Wednesday to Friday, the daytime mercury will peak in the mid 60s, with no change in the lows.

Going into the weekend, there will be a gradual warming trend with mostly sunny skies, according to meteorologists.
