Man Riding Motorized Scooter Dies in Crash in West LA Area

WEST LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was fatally injured when the motorized scooter he was riding crashed into a parked vehicle in the West Los Angeles area.

The crash occurred at about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday on a residential street near Beloit and Missouri avenues, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The man was found dead later that morning in the parking garage of a nearby apartment complex, according to police.

On Wednesday, he was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Henry Laveran-Stiebar, 27, of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Authorities were investigating the circumstances of the crash, and urged anyone with information on the case to call LAPD West Traffic Division detectives at 213-473-0234, or 877-LAPD-247.
