LAPD: Two Dogs Shot, One Fatally, Investigation Underway

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles Police Department Tuesday sought the public's help to solve separate shootings that left two dogs wounded, one fatally.

The first shooting was reported at about 11 p.m. on March 29, near 23rd Street and Santa Fe Avenue, according to the LAPD.

"Officers located a dog that had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and located evidence of a shooting," police said in a statement. "The officers transported the animal to a local veterinarian for treatment and the animal survived."

The second shooting occurred on Sunday at about 3:30 a.m. near 52nd Street and Avalon Boulevard.

"Officers located another dog that had suffered a gunshot wound and located evidence of a shooting," police said. "The animal succumbed to its injuries."

No suspect information was immediately available.
