An interactive map designed by a nuclear bomb historian estimates more than 1.5 million people would die if an explosive like the one in Hiroshima was detonated in downtown LA.

Alex Wellerstein with the Stevens Institute of Technology created the 'Nuke Map' for people to get an idea of the devastation of a nuclear blast.

You can enter a location and type of explosive then watch the death and injury numbers add up in real time. The map also calculates the impact of nuclear fallout.
