Pedestrian Fatally Injured by Vehicle in Malibu Area

MALIBU (CNS) - A pedestrian was hit by a tanker truck and killed Friday in the Malibu area, and Pacific Coast Highway was closed in the area, snarling traffic while an investigation was conducted, authorities said.

The man died at the scene of his injury, which occurred about 6:35 a.m. near Cross Creek Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

The driver of the tanker truck remained at the scene and was interviewed by authorities. The roadway was reopened about 10:30 a.m. Friday, the sheriff's department reported.
