PLAYA DEL REY (CNS) - A 22-year-old man who was reported missing during a late night swim in the ocean near Playa del Rey was identified by county authorities Thursday.
The body of Henry Hernandez Diaz was found around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported.
According to Fox 11, Diaz and two friends went for a night swim late Tuesday and only two came out of the water. They told authorities they hadn't seen their friend since going in.
Rescue personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 8100 block of Vista Del Mar shortly after 1 a.m.
Lifeguard rescue boats also joined the search, and the U.S. Coast Guard was notified.
