NORTHRIDGE (CNS) - Authorities engaged in a standoff Wednesday with a possibly armed suspect who barricaded in an RV in the Northridge area, but terminated the operation after ripping open the vehicle and learning that he was no longer at the location.
Officers were sent to the 9200 block of Corbin Avenue around midday on a report that the man was at the location and was thought to be armed with a rifle and a handgun, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
No injuries were reported, police said.
The standoff continued Wednesday afternoon until 3:05 p.m., when officers terminated the operation after discovering the suspect was no longer at the location, police said. A police armored vehicle was used to rip away the side of the RV, spilling the contents onto the roadway.
No further information was immediately available.
