LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Following another update of voting results from Tuesday's election, an estimated 408,500 ballots in Los Angeles County still remain to be tallied, the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's Office announced Friday.

Friday was the third update to voting results since the initial tallying ended early Wednesday morning. Another update is scheduled for Saturday. According to the registrar, Friday's update included 112,932 additional ballots processed.

A total of 1,217,867 ballots have now been tallied, for a voter turnout of 21.44%.

The remaining ballots to be counted include 400,000 vote-by-mail ballots, 8,000 conditional voter registration ballots and 500 provisional, or questioned, ballots.

The county will also continue to accept additional mail-in ballots through Tuesday, as long as they were postmarked by March 5.
