The crash occurred at about 11:05 p.m. Sunday near Avalon Boulevard and 81st Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Detectives discovered during their investigation that a possibly white- colored sedan was traveling southbound on Avalon Boulevard at a high rate of speed.
