LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Fire damaged a one-story home in the Winnetka area, but all occupants were able to evacuate safely, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 12:28 a.m. on the 20700 block of West Skouras Drive with flames showing from the attic, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
It took 32 firefighters 17 minutes to put out the fire. No reported injuries.
"While crews prepared to advance hose lines inside the house and cut holes in the roof, others performed salvage operations inside (gathering valuables and belongings and covering them to avoid further damage due to smoke or water)," Prange said.
The cause remains under investigation.
