LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 30-year-old man suspected of an unprovoked battery at a downtown Los Angeles Metro station Thursday has been arrested.

The battery occurred around 7:30 a.m. Thursday when a man walking on the Little Tokyo train station platform approached a Metro ambassador and allegedly punched her in the face without provocation, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.

The woman sustained a swollen cheek and chipped tooth, police said. She was treated at a hospital and later released.

Around 4 that afternoon, LAPD officers located a man wearing "the same unique clothing" nearby, in the area of Fifth and Olive streets, and arrested him, according to police. The man was identified as 30-year-old Peter Pedroche. His city of residence was not provided.
