CULVER CITY (CNS) - As Southern California braces for a multi-day storm that is expected to heavy rainfall and flooding to the region, officials in Culver City are offering assistance to help residents prepare for the onslaught.
The Culver City Fire Department is making sand and sandbags available at Fire Station No. 1, 9600 Culver Blvd. in downtown Culver City.
Supplies are self-serve and located at the rear of the fire station. Residents can fill 10 sandbags per household.
Additional sandbags are available at the City Yard, 9505 Jefferson Blvd.
In addition, the Culver City Police Department is working with the city's Housing and Human Services team to patrol flood channels to ensure the well-being of unhoused residents while the Public Works Department is actively monitoring and clearing major debris throughout the city.
Residents were encouraged to aid in trash pickup by placing bins 12 inches from the curb.
