LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, has dropped a lawsuit in which he alleged unidentified "Doe" defendants released his songs on social media without permission, court papers obtained Friday reveal.

The account at issue goes by DaUnreleasedGod across social media platforms and is allegedly responsible for uploading footage of Ye in the studio as well as numerous unreleased tracks, one of which features singer Rihanna and rapper and songwriter Pusha T.

Ye brought the Los Angeles Superior Court suit Sept. 6. His attorneys filed court papers on Wednesday with Judge Rupert A. Byrdsong, asking that the suit be dismissed "without prejudice," leaving the door open for it to be refiled later.

"The unauthorized leaks and distribution of the compositions have caused substantial harm to Ye's creative work, reputation and potential income," according to the suit, which further states that Ye has suffered significant financial losses and damages as a direct result of the defendants' actions.
