SEAL BEACH (CNS) - A 70-year-old woman died in a house fire in Seal Beach and a 90-year-old man who managed to get out was hospitalized, police said Thursday.

The name of the woman who died in the fire was not immediately released as authorities were working to notify all of her relatives, Seal Beach police Sgt. Jeff Gibson said. The man who escaped the blaze in the two-story, single-family home was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation and was expected to survive, Gibson said.

"All signs point to an accidental fire in the home," but the investigation into the fire's cause continues, Gibson said.

The fire was reported about 7:25 p.m. Wednesday in the 3700 block of Violet Street, the Orange County Fire Authority reported. Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 10 minutes.

"Firefighter paramedics treated and transported one adult to the hospital, and, unfortunately, firefighters found one deceased adult inside the home," the OCFA said in a statement.
