The motorist fled the scene but later turned herself in at the Signal Hill Police Department, police said. Detectives identified her as Cher Srey, 55, of Long Beach.

Srey was taken to Long Beach City Jail, where she was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and released.

The man who was fatally struck was not immediately identified, pending notification of relatives by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
