WEST COVINA (CNS) - Two brothers have been charged with robbery for allegedly stealing a woman's purse during a violent attack in the parking lot of a Costco store in Industry.
David Martin Morrison Jr., 38, and Andrew Morrison, 34, were set to be arraigned Wednesday at the West Covina courthouse, but details from that hearing were not immediately available, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
The two are each charged with one count of robbery.
Andrew Morrison is also charged with two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, while a third defendant, Jake Raya, is charged with one count of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, according to the District Attorney's Office.
The robbery occurred at around 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26 outside the Costco in the 17500 block of Castleton Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's officials said the victim tried to recover her purse and was punched repeatedly in the face while being dragged by the getaway vehicle, leaving her hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The two brothers were arrested last Thursday in Diamond Bar, with sheriff's officials saying that detectives recovered evidence including personal property belonging to the victim.
David Morrison was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail, while Andrew Morrison's bail was set at $600,000, according to jail records.
Sheriff's officials said investigators were working to determine if the pair have been involved in any other recent robberies in the San Gabriel Valley area.
Anyone with information about the suspects was urged to contact the LASD Major Crimes Bureau at 562-946-7187.
