LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 24-year-old woman suspected of leaving her toddler unattended in a stroller in Larchmont Village was freed from jail Thursday following her arrest on suspicion of child endangerment.
According to Los Angeles police and jail records, Targie Alexandre was arrested around midday Wednesday at her unidentified workplace. She was booked and initially had her bail set at $105,000, but according to jail records, she was cited and released from custody Thursday.
The toddler, a roughly 3-year-old girl, was spotted in a stroller by a passerby around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of North Larchmont Boulevard near First Street, according to police. The child was taken to a hospital for evaluation, but appeared healthy and uninjured, police said.
Officers found Alexandre's ID in the stroller and began a search for her. Police said they were able to contact the child's father.
It remained unclear why the child was left unattended.
