Semper Solaris is a Veteran-owned and operated solar company headquartered right here in Southern California.
Founders Kelly Shawhan and John Almond are passionate about helping other veterans. They founded the Semper Cares Initiative to honor deserving veterans and provide relief to them from high energy costs by awarding them with the security of energy independence. Every year they ask the public for help in identifying these deserving warriors so they can make a difference in their lives. You can nominate someone HERE.
This is the 19th year they have chosen a deserving veteran through this program.
This year, they are honoring US Army veteran E-5 Sgt. Angel Torres from Ventura.

Torres was nominated for this honor by his friend and neighbor, James Espinoza. James says he nominated him because of his love and dedication to this country and his kind and generous nature as a neighbor.
Torres served 12 years in the US Army as a Track Vehicle Mechanic and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He met his wife, Mille, a US Army Combat veteran in Afghanistan when they both volunteered to help support first responders at a temporary field hospital. Angel and Mille have three children and have one on the way, and they just celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary.
On Memorial Day, with the help of actor/comedian Rob Riggle, a decorated Marine Reservist of 23 years, Semper Solaris is gifting the Torres family a complete solar panel system, a new roof and panel upgrade, and installation at no expense.
