Coroner IDs Motorist Killed in Angeles National Forest Crash

AZUSA (CNS) - Officials Sunday released the name of a 57-year-old motorist who was killed when his vehicle overturned in the Angeles National Forest north of Azusa.

The motorist was identified as Elias Perez Santiago of Pico Rivera, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

The crash was reported at 8:47 p.m. Saturday on East Fork Road, east of the Shoemaker Canyon Road junction, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Santiago was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Stephan Brandt told City News Service.

Witnesses reported moderate rain in the area at the time of the crash, Brandt said.
