BEVERLY HILLS (CNS) - The vote center is now open for the city of Beverly Hills' May 23 special municipal election, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's Office announced.

The vote center in the second-floor Municipal Gallery of City Hall at 455 N. Rexford Drive is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for in-person voting, or to return a completed vote-by-mail ballot.

Every registered voter in the city will receive a vote-by-mail ballot. Voters can track their ballot every step of the way with free text, email or voicemail updates at https://bit.ly/3KP6oIe.

The special election consists of two ordinances concerning a major development project that would bring a Cheval Blanc hotel to the city. A zoning ordinance and development agreement were both approved by a 4-1 city council majority, but many residents oppose the plan and say the development would clash with the neighborhood's character.
