Man Fatally Shot in His Home in Long Beach; Gunman Sought

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A man was fatally shot in his home in Long Beach today, and the gunman was being sought.

Officers were sent to the 6200 block of California Avenue about 6:30 a.m., the Long Beach Police Department reported. ``Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with life-threatening injuries to his upper body,'' police said in a statement. ``The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.''  The wounded man died at a hospital, police said. His name was not immediately released.

`The preliminary investigation revealed that a known male adult suspect entered the victim's residence and shot the victim,'' police said. No description of the suspect was released.
