BEL AIR (CNS) - An Asian couple was terrorized for about four hours after a trio of armed robbers entered their Bel Air home, then escaped before police arrived, authorities said Sunday.
The home invasion robbery happened just before 9 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1300 block of Casiano Road, just west of the San Diego (405) Freeway north of Sunset Boulevard, according to KTLA News.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene just before 1 a.m. Saturday, the station reported.
The suspects are believed to have entered the house through an unlocked sliding door while the wife -- a woman in her 60s was watching TV. Her husband -- a man in his 70s -- was reportedly punched several times in the face after telling the intruders there were no valuables in the home.
It was unclear what, if anything, was taken.
The suspects reportedly dismantled a security system and doused the home with bleach to destroy any evidence, the station reported. Their description was being withheld by police, the station reported.
The couple were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, Channel 5 reported.
