GLENDORA (CNS) - A man, possibly an off-duty Los Angeles police officer, was killed Saturday when his vehicle rear-ended a big rig on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Glendora.
The crash occurred about 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound freeway, west of Grand Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatality was the lone occupant inside his vehicle, according to the CHP. The victim was not identified, but ABC7 reported from the scene the man was an off-duty LAPD officer. Authorities could not immediately confirm the report.
Paramedics dispatched to the location at 2:37 a.m. did not take anyone to a hospital, according to a county fire department dispatcher.
The man's name will be released pending notification of relatives, according to the coroner's office.
