LAUSD Strike - Help For Parents

With the strike closing all LAUSD schools the next few days, parents are wondering where they may be able to get some help to keep their kids occupied and learning or if they couldn't get child care in time for them to stay home.

LAUSD is providing online webinars, instructional packets and supplies for students to use. There's a hotline for families, 213-443-1300 that provides information and resources to help families prepare for at-home learning during the strike.

For families unable to arrange for child care during the strike, selected schools are also offering student supervision options. The map below shows select elementary, middle and high schools where student supervision will be offered from 8:00am - 6pm.

There's a lot of other ways to keep your kids occupied too!

Libraries across the county are offering free programs and meals for students during the strike.

The LA Zoo and Botanical Gardens is offering FREE admission for currently enrolled K-12 students while schools are closed.
