HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - A trash fire triggered the explosion of at least one propane tank that threatened a single-story commercial building in Hollywood, authorities said Sunday.

The fire and blast were reported at 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6100 block of West Hollywood Boulevard, said the Los Angeles Fire Department's Brian Humphrey.

Active flames threatened the 5,000-square-foot building but firefighters managed to prevent significant damage, Humphrey said. The fire was out at 11:55 p.m.

No injuries were reported, he said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
