SANTA ANA (CNS) - A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run in Santa Ana, and police today sought the public's help to find the motorist.
The person was injured about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 2800 block of West First Street, and he died at a hospital, the Santa Ana Police Department reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
``Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking north, crossing First Street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling west on First Street,'' police said in a statement.
``The vehicle involved in this collision fled from the scene before officers arrived,'' police said. ``The vehicle, along with the driver remain outstanding. Additionally, it is unknown if alcohol played a factor in this collision. However, the cause of the collision remains under investigation.''
