Man Charged with Fatally Stabbing Girlfriend in Stanton

SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 22-year-old man was charged Wednesday with fatally stabbing his girlfriend in Stanton.

Edgar Amezcua Navarrete was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon and two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Navarrete is accused of killing 22-year-old Serena Celeste Gallardo on Sunday, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were dispatched at 11:50 p.m. Sunday to an apartment in the 10000 block of Bell Street. The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Two other adult victims were also wounded, deputies said.
