Little Change To Average LA County Gas Price

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent to $4.502 Monday after rising seven of the previous nine days.

The average price is 6 cents more than one week ago but 43.2 cents less than one month ago and 18.1 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose 7.8 cents over the previous nine days, including 1.7 cents Sunday.

The average price is $1.992 less than the record $6.494 set Oct. 5.

The Orange County average price rose for the 10th consecutive day, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.438. It has increased 12.2 cents over the past 10 days, including 2.2 cents Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 8.2 cents more than one week ago but 38 cents less than one month ago and 21.1 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $2.021 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.

The national average price rose for the ninth time in 10 days following a 44-day streak of decreases totaling 70.9 cents, increasing eight- tenths of a cent to $3.216. It has risen 12 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.3 cents Sunday.

The national average price is 11.4 cents more than one week ago but 23.2 cents less than one month ago and 7.2 cents lower than one year ago. It is $1.80 lower than the record $5.016 set June 14.
