Woman Shot After She Tried Stealing Nazi Flag From Oklahoma Man's Yard

A 26-year-old woman in Oklahoma was shot multiple times after she tried stealing a Nazi flag that was hanging in a man's front yard.

According to Garfield County Sheriff Jody Helm, deputies were called out to a report of shots fired at around 3 a.m. early Sunday morning. When they arrived, they discovered the woman lying in a ditch with "multiple gunshot wounds" and began rendering aid to her. She was later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Helm said the woman had been at a party across the street from the home where two swastika flags were hanging in the Oklahoma man's front yard. The 26-year-old was dared to try and steal one of the Nazi flags and she ran over to try.

“On the way back someone hollered gun,” Helm said. “She dropped the flag at the end of the driveway and shots were fired.”

Alexander John Feaster, the owner of the residence where the flags were hanging, reportedly used a rifle to fire at the woman while she was trying to steal the flag.

Feaster was later taken into custody at his home with no incident and immediately requested a lawyer, Helm said. Deputies got a search warrant for Feaster's home where they later found the rifle used in the shooting, as well as more than a dozen other guns and ammunition.

One neighbor told Fox 4 that Feaster had been flying the swastika flags for about a year.

“Nobody wants to look at them as the problem,” according to the neighbor who didn’t want their identity to be revealed.

“Nobody really knows him,” the neighbor added. “He keeps to himself.”

Feaster was taken to the Garfield County Detention Center on charges of shooting with the intent to kill and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held without bond.

The woman is expected to recover from her injuries. There's no word on whether the District Attorney will file any charges against the woman.
