DMV kiosks could be in a grocery store near you

You can now head to the grocery store for milk, eggs, apples and your vehicle registration.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles have started to place "DMV Now" kiosks in grocery stores around southern California.

The kiosks are set-up to renew your vehicle registration while you shop. The machines can be operated in English and Spanish and supposedly only take 2 minutes.

Superior Grocers in South LA have had the kiosks since June 19th and Al Jimenez, director of the grocery's South Avalon location, told LAist. "Most people don't seem to know about the kiosk yet, but the ones who do are really happy," Jimenez continued.

DMV Now" kiosks can be found in Tarzana, Simi Valley, Lancaster, Palmdale and Canoga Park, among others. The California DMV is seeking to expand the "DMV Now" program with up to 40 more kiosks in 2017.
