Woman Suffers Stroke After Sex With Husband

A woman left paralyzed after having sex with her husband is now warning other women about a potentially life-threatening condition.

According to The Mirror, Lucinda Allen of Birmingham, England had just had sex with her husband back in 2012 when she felt an excruciating headache. Headaches after sex were not uncommon for Allen, who says a congenital abnormality in a blood vessel had led to a lifetime of headaches following sex. However, this time, was different.

She tells the Mirror that the pain was unlike anything she had ever suffered before.

“It’s normally a bit like brain freeze and never lasts long – but this time it didn’t go away and soon I was writhing in agony,” Allen told The Mirror.

Allen was six months pregnant at the time and had suffered a brain hemorrhage according to doctors. She was immediately put into a medically-induced coma following a series of strokes.

Doctors had to perform a craniotomy to help relieve the pressure on her brain, but the strokes had done too much damage. Allen was left paralyzed on her left side.

Despite the three-month hospital stay, Allen eventually gave birth to a healthy baby girl in November 2012.

Now, she's warning other women about the dangers of the post-orgasm head pain.

“Nobody talks about post-orgasm head pain,” she says, “That’s understandable. But I want to raise awareness of how it can be a warning sign.
