A local woman is teaching girls with down syndrome to find their inner diva

A North Hollywood woman is using her model talents to teach girls with special needs to be confident in themselves through The Art of Runway

Renadda Wiggins does not want these girls to be overlooked just because they have a disability. She offers a six week modelling course for $100 but Wiggins says it is much more than posing.

She claims that teachers notice a difference in the girls at school and ask the parents what they were doing to help their confidence. One girl was extremely shy and would not participate in class but now she speaks up and asks questions.

Wiggins wants the girls to have confidence and not settle for being overlooked. She wants them to be able to say "Hey look at me". The classes are meant to push the girls to be confident enough to complete everyday tasks like school, dishes, laundry and having relationships.

The classes also feature the girl's repeating mantras such as: "I am beautiful. I am smart. I am creative. I can be whatever I want to be.

Wiggins says she was making more teaching runway skills to models but that she has found her calling helping these girls.
