Councilman Joe Buscaino joins the show to share his take on Wednesday LA Mayoral debate. The homeless crisis in Los Angeles took center stage during a debate between Rep. Karen Bass and businessman Rick Caruso on Wednesday.
When asked to define the City of Angels, which is being torn apart by increasing crime and expense of living, in one word, the candidates—both Democrats—described the city as being in "crisis."
To paraphrase, Karen Bass stated that her public safety strategy is to put additional officers on city streets, particularly in neighborhoods where residents have expressed a need for more police presence.
Caruso followed a response with:
"I'm going around this whole city; people don't feel safe," he said. "They just don't feel safe. They don't feel safe to go for a walk. People are taking off their jewelry before they go to dinner. Think about all the things we can't do anymore."
