The contentious criminal investigation against county Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and others was removed out of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's hands. The actions effectively put an end to the Sheriff's Department's investigation into a series of Metro contracts issued to a domestic violence organization.
Sheriff officials raided Kuehl and Patti Giggans' homes because they suspected them of conspiring to funnel contracts for the Giggans' nonprofit, according to filed documents.
