Here are some updates to the earlier post:

At the time of his arrest, the shooter had 18 live rounds for the gun.

It is being reported that Crumbley's parents had met with school administrators about their child's classroom behavior hours before the shooting took place. The meeting took place on Tuesday morning.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said today,

“We have since learned that the school did have contact with the student the day before and the day of the shooting for behaviors in the classroom that they felt was concerning,”

he continued:

“In fact, the parents were brought in the morning of the shooting and had a face-to-face meeting with the school. The content of that meeting of course is part of the investigation.”

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald is considering charges against both parents. They advised their son not to speak and also purchased the gun their son used in this shooting.

Ethan Crumbley has been charged as an adult with murder, terrorism, assault, and weapon possession charges.

While the house was being raided, authorities seized several "long guns".

Yesterday, an inexplicable and devasting event in Oxford, Michigan. 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley went on a school rampage killing 4 people and injuring several others.

The parents of the 15-year-old school shooter have retained a lawyer and have declined permission for authorities to speak to their son about the shooting. They have remained silent.
As authorities try to piece together yesterday's event, a motive is unknown, but Crumbley's intentions were clear. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in an interview with CNN, that the 15-year-old had the intention of killing people.

"He was shooting people at close range, oftentimes towards the head and chest. ... It's just absolutely coldhearted murders,"

As for a motive, Sheriff Bouchard mentioned in his interview with CNN:

"We can't get the motive from the suspect that we have in custody, but we think we've got a path to get a lot of supportive information as to how and why this occurred,"

According to Education Week, this school shooting was the deadliest on school property this year.

The school shooter carried a 9mm semi-automatic handgun - a gun that his father had purchased four days prior to the horrific event. His father had also purchased 15-round magazines. At the time of his arrest, Crumbley had seven live rounds in the gun.

A search warrant was executed at Crumbley's home and his cell phone was seized by authorities, according to the sheriff.

The parents of the school shooter quickly hired a lawyer and have declined permission for authorities to interview their son.

"The person who's got the most insight on motive is not talking,"

said, Sheriff Bouchard

According to the sheriff, Crumbley "had been shooting" the gun prior to Tuesday's horrific event and had apparently posted pictures of the gun and a target he was using.
