Former New York Medical Examiner Says Epstein's Body Had Signs Of Homicide

Patrick McMullan Archives

A famed forensic pathologist is suggesting that convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was the victim of a homicide and did not kill himself in his prison cell. Dr. Michael Baden, a former New York City medical examiner, was hired by Epstein's brother Mark to observe the autopsy.

While New York City Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson ruled that Epstein's cause of death was suicide by hanging, Baden told Fox & Friends that he believes the evidence shows Epstein was murdered. He pointed out three fractures in Epstein's neck, which usually occur when somebody is strangled.

"Those three fractures are extremely unusual in suicidal hangings and could occur much more commonly in homicidal strangulation," Baden said. "I've not seen in 50 years where that occurred in a suicidal hanging case."

Baden says his investigation into the circumstances around Epstein's death is not complete but believes there is more to the story than what has been released by the authorities. He pointed out the "total breakdown" of procedure at the high-security Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, where Epstein was being held.

He said it was odd that the security cameras pointed at Epstein's cell malfunctioned, while both guards happened to fall asleep at the same time Epstein hanged himself inside his prison cell.

"Occasionally, a guard falls asleep — never two guards at the same time," Baden said. "The issue would be, did somebody come in and cause his death?"
