Rats and Typhus: Welcome To Los Angeles

Los Angeles officials have under fire this month and called for investigation after reports of a vermin infestation at City Hall has surfaced, the LA Times reports. As well, at least one city employee was diagnosed with typhus, a disease spread by rodents, and typically found in third world countries.

This isn't something people should be so surprised by. Thanks to Mayor "Yoga Pant" Garcetti, the homeless problem in Los Angeles has done nothing but gotten worse.

What else do you expect? There's hundreds of people in the streets leaving their trash and they're spreading diseases within each other. Rats are going to attract to these things. City Hall is in the middle of this mess and it's about time officials are taking notice of this problem.

The Los Angeles rat problem has focused attention on typhus over the last few weeks, but sadly cases of the disease has only been increasing for more than a decade. Like we said, people are barley noticing this problem, but it's always been there. It's only getting worse because Garcetti doesn't do his job as Mayor and doesn't make any strides towards improving the problem.

In 2008, thirteen people in California were diagnosed with typhus, but the number has only skyrocketed. 167 people were infected last year and more than 95% of the people were from the Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Officials now are interested in finding out the root cause of the spread of this disease, but let us save you the trouble.

Check the streets of your city first.
