Bad Laws Perpetuate San Francisco's Homeless Crisis

It's the sad and unfortunate news of the day that everybody already knows, San Francisco has turned into a slum. Despite the booming tech industry and wealth of Silicon Valley, the bay area has become overrun with the homeless who inhabit almost every corner.

John Stossel with Fox News took it upon himself to investigate the crisis going on in the foggy city and found upset residents and helpless police.

One woman told Stossel the homeless will "shoot up right in front of you." "Police don't do anything about it! They'll get somebody for drinking a beer but walk right past people using needles," the woman said.

Outrageous, rising housing costs and the generosity of free things for the homeless have kept them on the street where they can just simply "hang out."

The city offers street people food stamps, free shelter, train tickets and $70 a month in cash.

“They’re always offering resources,” a man told Stossel. “San Francisco’s just a good place to hang out.”
