Putin's gift, soccer ball or listening device?

President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a joint press conference in Helsinki, Finland, on Monday, where Trump was gifted a soccer ball by his new Russian friend.

However, some are questioning whether the soccer ball is a genuinely nice gift or a secret spy listening gadget that Russia will use to gain top secret information.

Those that think the ball could have been bugged have plenty of reason to think so as this would not be the first time Russia devised a plan to spy on the U.S. government.

In 1945, Soviet children presented the US Ambassador with a large, hand-carved wooden Great Seal of the United States that had a mechanical microphone inside, capturing conversations held in the office. The Ambassador did not know it contained the covert listening device and it went undetected for years.

The US may never know if the ball is just that, a ball, or if it really holds the power to listen to Trump's deepest darkest secrets. The best place for the sporting good could be a museum.

Looks like the secret service might have to do a thorough inspection on this special spy gadget... err I mean soccer ball.
