GoFundMe Established for Man Stabbed At Steakhouse By Homeless Man

Friends and family members are remembering Anythony Mele Jr. after he was stabbed in the neck while he was dining with his family at Aloha Steakhouse over the weekend. The 35-year-old father had his daughter sitting in his lap as he was stabbed.

She was not hurt.

According to Ventura Police, Jamal Jackson, 49, who is listed as homeless, was arrested on suspicion of willful, deliberate, premeditated murder after police tracked the suspect down at a nearby beach  where witnesses had chased him.

Jackson's bail was set at more than $1 million.

Mele's family set up a GoFundMe account to help cover the unexpected costs of the funeral.

On April 19, 2018 at the young age of 35, Anthony’s life was tragically taken. Anthony was a wonderful father to his young daughter, loving husband, son and brother. Our hearts are severely broken for his daughter and family.

It is my hope that we can now honor Anthony and help lay him to rest. Any donations large or small will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to his family towards the unexpected costs. Any additional proceeds will go to Anthony’s wife and daughter to help them through this difficult time.

Anthony's father, Anthony Mele Sr., is listed as the beneficiary of the campaign and handling the funds on the family's behalf.

If you'd like to donate and help Mele's family out, you can donate to his GoFundMe here.
