The Emily Shane Foundation's Annual Butterfly Release
The skies will be filled with the magic of hundreds of butterflies as the Emily Shane Foundation holds its third annual butterfly release at Bluff's Park in Malibu on Sunday, November 19 from 2 - 4 pm. Sponsor one or more butterflies as a way for you to help students in need succeed and as a thank you to a mentor or someone who helped make a difference in YOUR life. Our Foundation's flagship educational program, the SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program allows disadvantaged youth in middle school the opportunity to attain their best academic potential through individualized and intensive mentoring/tutoring.
Celebrity MC John Kobylt of KFI AM 640's John and Ken Show will welcome everyone to what will be a wonderful afternoon for all to share. Our SEA Program provides failing/struggling disadvantaged middle school students in the mainstream classroom across Ventura and LA counties with individualized, intensive mentoring/tutoring sessions. The overhead cost for our mentorship program is approximately $1,000 per student for the academic year. Each butterfly can be sponsored for $10 each. The more butterflies sponsored, the more children we can serve.
All proceeds will go directly to support SEA! The afternoon will feature live entertainment, a silent auction, raffle prizes, children's activity table, information about butterflies, etc. We look forward to seeing you there!The Emily Shane Foundation (www.emilyshane.org) was founded in memory of Emily Rose Shane who was killed at the age of 13 by a suicidal driver on April 3, 2010.
