Released convicted child molester housed in Fresno County motel

A released convicted child molester, whose proposed home was suspiciously destroyed in a fire, is now living in motels in Fresno County.

61-year-old Jeffrey Snyder was let out of Coalinga State Hospital on Monday and was placed in the custody Liberty Healthcare.

Liberty is scheduled to watch Snyder 24 hours a day. Liberty, along with the California Department of State Hospitals, looked at 1,749 homes in Fresno County as possible places for him to live.

None of them were suitable for Synder, who is sexually violent and was convicted sen times of molesting children.

For now, authorities have Snyder holed up in motels.

He's been in and out of prison since 1979, when he was determined to be “a mentally disordered sex offender.” His victims were males ages 8 to 17.

Why does this guy need to be let out?! Why should anyone who is sexually violent be allowed out?!
