Joel covered a lot this week, so here's a quick outline of what you need to know to get yourself on your way to financial happiness:
It's been reported that now both Allstate and State Farm have both stopped offering home insurance plans in California. With the rising cost of housing and insurance, there's a fear that many people will go without home insurance. This is bad because although it's expensive, it's so much better to have insurance in the off chance that you'll really need it. Remember, Joel didn't expect a tree to break through his roof, and that's a $50,000 fix! If you need help looking for insurance, check out trustedchoice.com!
Stat of the Week: Americans now owe $1 trillion in credit card debt. This is really bad news especially with the average interest rate on credit cards being around 24%. If you are someone who is struggling with credit card debt, check out the How to Money article on creating a debt payoff plan!
Money Move of the Week: Don't buy the new Apple Vision Pro! It looks cool, but it's $3500! That's way too much for something like this, and it encourages us to isolate ourselves more. On top of that, there are going to be kinks that need to be ironed out, and if you buy right away, you'll be the one dealing with them! Wait and save your money.
